About Good Standing
There’s a strange little club for everyone.
Good Standing creates vintage-inspired apparel for people who belong to clubs that probably shouldn’t exist.
Our shirts take their cues from the American clubs, civic departments, recreation leagues, conservation groups, field offices, athletic associations, and community organizations of the 1960s through the 1980s — then apply all of that institutional seriousness to organizations of absolutely no importance.
A neighborhood wildlife observation unit.
A department devoted to unfinished projects.
A division permanently awaiting the final draft.The organizations may be fictional. The membership qualifications are remarkably real.
Every Good Standing design is created to feel like something you could have found on an old department-issued shirt, local club uniform, recreation-league tee, or forgotten piece of organizational apparel. We favor restrained colors, credible vintage typography, old-school emblems, and the kind of unnecessarily specific administrative details that make an imaginary organization feel suspiciously legitimate.
The goal is simple:
Make good shirts for oddly specific people.
No headquarters.
No mandatory meetings.
